A time for training and travelling

Well summer vacations are sure not what they used to be (like in the good old days in school). This sudden but sure realization dawned on me the first day of my summer internship. Sure I was about to work with many of the countries smartest scientists and hoping to learn a lot ...but hey ! the ride to work was a different matter. All the 6 hrs of travel in a day facilitated by almost all modes of travel (car, autos, taxis, buses and the good old rickshaw) ,i decided finally, was well worth it.
I liked doing work (yes "work"...falling generally under my list of "things to avoid at all cost"). Though i was sure I was still not converted into a harcore workaholic like my dad but there was something about workin in one of the leading r&d facilities which added a sense of importance to even seemingly unimportant things like labelling testubes.
Finally after settling into a daily routine of getting up at 6 am( a feat which my friends would tell u deserve an entry into ripley's believe it or not) and getin back home at 8 p.m after hopping 3 buses. So there was no time for anything.
But those were the weekdays.....
